CASE STUDY I - Innovative solutions for a Belgium based world leader in dredging and related services

The company was executing a project in South India and the mandate was to reduce overall Indian tax duly considering the impact of Belgian taxes.

SKP’s team worked out an innovative solution which involved setting up a group company in Mauritius to whom the company sub-contracted part of the dredging work. This led to a 40% tax saving on the US$75 million project and in addition, there was no further taxation in Belgium. This was over and above SKP’s continued support and advice on various issues during the execution of the project, such as Belgian and Indian accounting issues on foreign currency translations that would have an impact on taxation in Belgium and India.
