Union minister hopes JD-U, RJD will back GST Bill
Exuding confidence that the Janata Dal-United and the Rashtriya Janata Dal would support the passage of the GST Bill, Union Minister of State for Finance, Jayant Sinha said, "In the past, Nitish Kumar 
(Bihar Chief Minister) has been supportive of the GST."

West Bengal to support GST
West Bengal will support the GST Bill subject to the rider that its revenues should not be impacted said Amit Mitra, Finance, Commerce and Industry and IT Minister of West Bengal. By introducing GST, if state revenue falls, it should be compensated and a constitutional amendment is needed to make the state government feel secure.

GST only a question of time, obstruction won't continue: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley
"Almost all state governments are on board. And I must say even the state governments of the Congress party have supported it," FM Arun Jaitley said. "Therefore, a national consensus has been built. The trading community in India, the industry, the business and the popular opinion all support the Bill," he added. The Select Committee of the Rajya Sabha has also approved the Bill.

GJF urges government to implement GST across gems and jewellery sector
The All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) urged the Union Government to implement a uniform 1% GST across the entire gems and jewellery sector since such an initiative will bring all jewellery manufacturers under one umbrella. Such an action will also help the gems and jewellery sector promote the 'Make in India' concept at a grass root level and help in getting the sector more organised.

Ready to talk to anyone in Congress for GST Bill passage: FM Arun Jaitley
With the landmark GST Bill stuck due to opposition from the Congress, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said he is willing to reach out to Rahul Gandhi to get the biggest reform agenda in two decades passed by the Parliament. The FM also stated that he is certainly willing to look at recommendations if it doesn't hurt but strengthens the GST architecture.
