Rajasthan ratifies GST Bill
The Rajasthan Assembly unanimously passed the GST Bill, officially known as the 122nd Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2014. During the debate, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said Rajasthan was a consumer state and the common man stands to benefit from the GST, which will provide relief from price rises. While the state-level GST committee has already been constituted, the Chief Minister announced that district-level committees will also be formed to address issues regarding the implementation of the legislation.

Small traders to be exempted from GST: Adhia
Small traders having an annual turnover up to INR 2.5 million will be exempted from GST and the centre and states are likely to agree to this limit, said Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia. "There will be an exemption limit for small traders and the limit is likely to be fixed at INR 2.5 million. The states and centre are now involved in an intense discussion on this. More or less, we have reached an understanding that the limit will be up to INR 2.5 million,"
Adhia said in a post on the Ministry of Finance YouTube channel.

Puducherry Assembly ratifies GST Bill amid Opposition protest
The Puducherry Assembly ratified the Constitutional Amendment (GST) Bill amidst a walkout by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) members and the continuing boycott by the All India N.R. Congress (AINRC). The House adopted a resolution tabled by Chief Minister V Narayanasamy for the ratification of the Bill, seen as the single biggest tax reform in decades. He asserted that steps had been taken to ensure that the new tax regime did not affect the union territory.

Haryana to form task force for GST implementation: Khattar
Addressing the participants at the first GST summit, Haryana organised by the Excise and Taxation Department at Panchkula, Khattar said that the task force will include traders, industrialists, advocates, chartered accountants, IT experts and government officers. "The task force will deal with grievances, if any, concerning the implementation of GST. Anyone can contact the task force for the similar purposes. The government will certainly implement GST within the stipulated period without any hurdle," Khattar said.

Odisha ratifies GST Bill, President's assent remain
Odisha has become the 16th state to ratify the Constitutional Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament to introduce the GST, helping cross the important threshold of more than half the number of states needed for the proposed law to be sent for presidential assent. Once the 122nd Constitutional Amendment (GST) Bill gets the President's assent, the government will be able to set up the GST Council, a body of central and state representatives that will work out the finer details of India's biggest tax reform.
